The cultured marble products installed in your home have been manufactured to rigid quality standards. They are durable products that, with proper care and cleaning, will have long-lasting beauty.
The surface of all cultured marble products is a tough, stain resistant polyester coating that protects and seals the unit. The care given to this surface determines the life of the actual product.
Normal Cleaning
The surfaces of glossy finished, shiny cultured marble products should be cleaned with a soft cloth and a NON-ABRASIVE CLEANER, such as the liquid soaps used to wash dishes. Also spray cleaners like Mr. Clean, Formula 409, Windex, Clorox Clean UP and Glass Plus, or the foaming cleaners like those made by Dow Corning and Lysol.
DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE CLEANERS, such as kitchen cleaners like Ajax, Comet, Soft Scrub, etc. Any cleaner that feels abrasive when rubbed between the fingers should not be used on a glossy finish cultured marble surface.
Tough Cleaning and Removal of Scratches
Cigarette stains, other mild stains and shallow scratches can be removed from glossy surfaces by using a #600 grit or higher sandpaper and water; followed by polishing with a fine rubbing compound.
Caution
The wire stand found on most curling irons, abrasive utensils (such as razor blades and scrapers) and household solvents (such as fingernail polish remover and paint thinner) WILL damage the surface finish.
Hint
Periodic application of a quality paste wax on glossy surface marble will add a barrier of protection and retain the luster and shine of the surface. We recommend a product called Gel-Gloss made especially for this purpose. You can find Gel Gloss at any Home Depot.
